Lance Cpl. Candessa A. Benn, a Marine with the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, cradles a baby in her arms during the collapsed structure trainer evolution at the Raymond M. Downey Sr. Training Facility located in Indian Head, Md., August 25. The trainer conditions students to overcome a myriad of challenges while executing the mission of extracting casualties from a confined space environment. In addition to the small spaces the students must navigate themselves through, they must also properly triage and package casualties for navigation through the same areas.
