A technical rescue Marine with Chemical Biological Incident Response Force's Technical Rescue Platoon attempts to cut through a steel plate in order to gain access to a tunnel where rescuers believe victims could be trapped during a simulated collapse during the joint 72-hour technical rescue training operation with the 911th U.S. Army Technical Rescue Engineer Company at the Downey Responder Training Facility. This technical rescue training operation at DRTF allowed the two units take the opportunity to train together to build a good working relationship and familiarity of each other's capabilities and limitations, since they both cover the National Capitol Region they would work together if there were ever a disaster.
