Perry, GA - Marines and Sailors of the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, II Marine Expeditionary Force participate in Exercise Scarlet Response at Guardian Centers in Perry, Ga., July 21. CBIRF personnel are trained to exercise command and control, agent detection and identification, search, rescue and decontamination, and emergency care for contaminated personnel. During Scarlet Response, the Marines and Sailors are testing their ability to detect radiation, locate casualties, conduct vehicle extrication, and perform decontamination of simulated casualties that have resulted from a mock nuclear explosion in a major U.S. city. Exercise Scarlet Response is being executed as part of Exercise Vibrant Response 14, a combined Command Post Exercise/Field Training Exercise directed by Commander, U.S. Northern Command.
